Project Overview
Quantum Builders was commissioned by the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) to deliver comprehensive MEP solutions for their headquarters facility in Riyadh. This critical infrastructure project required precision engineering and adherence to the highest quality standards to ensure optimal performance of the desalination operations center.
Scope of Work
- Design and installation of complete HVAC systems for administrative and operational areas
- Advanced air conditioning solutions with energy efficiency optimization
- Power distribution systems including main switchboards and distribution panels
- Lighting systems with energy-efficient LED installations throughout the facility
- Fire alarm and life safety systems meeting Saudi Civil Defense requirements
- Earthing and lightning protection networks for critical equipment safety
- Low current systems including CCTV, access control, and building management systems
Technical Specifications
The project featured state-of-the-art HVAC systems capable of maintaining precise environmental conditions critical for desalination control systems. Our team implemented VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems with advanced zoning controls to optimize energy consumption while ensuring comfort in all areas of the facility.
Electrical systems were designed with redundancy in mind, featuring backup power solutions including UPS systems and automatic transfer switches to ensure uninterrupted operations of critical control systems. The fire protection systems included addressable fire alarm networks with smoke detectors, manual call points, and integration with the building's emergency systems.
Project Challenges & Solutions
The main challenge involved coordinating with existing infrastructure while minimizing disruption to SWCC's critical operations. Our team implemented phased installation schedules and worked during off-peak hours to ensure continuous operation of the desalination facility throughout the project duration.
Quality Assurance
All installations underwent rigorous testing and commissioning procedures. The project complied with Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) requirements and was certified under ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards. Regular inspections were conducted to ensure adherence to SWCC's stringent quality requirements.
